What is integral to your work as an artist?
We all approach writing and rehearsing with the same work ethic, and tend to run overtime during our rehearsals/writing days, if it means we get the exact sound we're looking for. (We've been running overtime for about 3 and a half years now so hopefully we sound alright.)
What has been the most influential moment in your life?
When the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce released the 'I Love Newmarket' video on YouTube. Please watch it.
What themes do you pursue in your work?
We tend to write a lot about our own moments of (personal/spiritual/emotional) self-discovery, and how uncomfortable and unexpected those realizations can be. Our music is often fast-paced and full of changes, which is usually due to the fact that one of us will come in one day, have a total epiphany about a new section/lyric/sound, and we'll run with it. This not only keeps the melodies fresh, but the groove literally changing with each time we pick up a new song. Those changes in the music act like journal entries that tend to reflect how we were feeling about each other that day.
